Isabel is one of New Zealand’s foremost family lawyers. She has been involved in many high profile family matters.
Personable, astute and direct, Isabel is widely acknowledged by peers and clients for her work which covers the whole of the family law jurisdiction. She has particular expertise in the connection between relationship property and trust law and family protection cases.
Isabel appears at the request of the Court as Counsel for the Child, and as Counsel for Protected Persons under the Protection of Personal & Property Rights Act. She has a special interest in cases relating to the United Nations Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, and she appears for the New Zealand Central Authority.
In addition to family law, Isabel also specialises in the areas of life planning and dispute resolution.
She is a past Convenor of the New Zealand Law Society Family Law Committee, and a past President of the Canterbury District Law Society. She is a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers.
Isabel also finds time for outside interests including bridge and supporting her sport-playing nephews.
