Jane Tappenden

PARTNER

Jane came to Cuningham Taylor in 1987 to work as a Law Clerk for one month and never left. She considers herself privileged to have found such a wonderful team of people to work with over her career.

Jane specialises in property and commercial law, wills, trusts and estate matters and is oft-quoted as saying she does ‘anything you can do sitting down’. She is interested in her clients evolving lives and is appreciative of the trust and confidence placed in the firm by our many inter-generational clients. Jane loves all things property, including cross-lease conundrums, lifestyle block challenges and the endless array of issues that arise in the course of conveyancing.

Over the years Jane has been involved in a number of charitable NGOs including Family Help Trust, Canterbury Mental Health and Resource Centre (MHERC), Citizens Advice Bureau and Community Law Centre and has seen first-hand the enormous contribution of volunteers to the Community.

Outside of work she enjoys time to just be at home with family and friends. She is keen on opera, ballet, theatre and French movies but is currently being inducted as a ‘Swiftie’.

Fun fact: Jane was inspired to take law at university after the experience of her school friend who was a refugee from Vietnam.
